Date: Sat 9th March 2008
Match: AOE 1sts v Camp Hill ( League )
Result: Camp Hill 40 -- 0 Aston Old Eds.
Report:

Aston went to Camp Hill as the only team to have beaten the League leaders which they did in the first match of the season. The feat was not to be repeated, however, as Camp Hill put their stamp on the game from the outset and showed why they are riding high at the moment. A good crowd was present to watch as the home side demonstrated a real resolve from the off and Aston's defence throughout was required to try to plug gaps made by both the power and the pace of Camp Hill. Camps moved the ball about with some aplomb under the direction of their fly half who ran the game astutely. Aston's defence was determined but could not stop the leaks and the score saw them down by 26 points with ten minutes to go. As so often happens the dam broke late in the game and Camps added fourteen points during this period. They took the league points and also the Teddy Parker Cup which is played for annually by these teams.

Aston's Seconds and Thirds both had good wins.
