It was a non-league day and Aston could not muster a full complement for this Old Eds derby. Nuns made a bright start with a try set up on the blind side by their scrum half. Aston made a strong reply with a try of their own from Tait who was driven over at the corner after a line out. Nuns added another try before Aston, after good pressure, missed a penalty attempt but Nuns were up for the game much more than Aston and they scored two more tries before the break for a 24-5 lead.
Nuns' enthusiasm for doing the basics well was a large part of Aston's downfall as they chased everything with vigour, denying Aston space and time and four more tries went onto the board before the final whistle.
The Thirds went down 17-9 to Silhillians after Sils cancelled the Second team fixture.
